About Me

Soccer was my life and was extremely good to me - in more ways than one can imagine!  It provided me opportunities to travel the country and world.  It also allowed me to meet so many wonderful people, players and fans, that are now life long friends. 

Also, Soccer allowed me to move away from home so I would not to have to deal with my sexuality, in plain sight of my family.  It allowed me the breathing space from my family so I could truly learn who I was.  

However, Professional sports is not that accepting when it comes to gay athletes. Some, like myself, came out after their careers are over.  Recently several athletes have come out to try to change that conversation - time will tell.  I had to repress who I was, my choice,  and I am hoping my story will help those that want to come out.    Times were different and society is becoming more accepting of gay athletes.
